After a near runout at a strangely porcine shaped obstacle, the final fence was all but seven jumps away. Despite her diminuitive size, Lady could scale fences that were nearly her own height with apparent ease and she'd made short work of the previous eighteen. Fiona had been keeping her close in hand for the last two - a pair of vehicle shaped log piles - but now she slackened her grip on the reins and let her gallop on across the wide expanse of grass that preceded fence nineteen. The weather, which had been pleasant all day, had turned just before they set off and warm rain now trickled gently down her neck with every stride.

The mare's ears were in constant motion against the wind, flicking back every few seconds as if checking up on what her rider wanted her to do. Through the damp and muggy haze, the next fence blurred into view; a simple enough looking spread that led directly into the water complex. Fiona knew appearances could be deceptive however and gathered up her reins. Lady was a careful jumper but you could never be too careful...
